Various courses are on offered at the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment at the Technical University of Kenya (tukenya) and they are all crafted to meet the need of the industry and the standard required of a prestigious institution internationally.

Getting an admission to study for a bachelor degree is highly competitive and that is why the minimum entry requirements is design to allow for the intake of bright students who are ready to learn new science and technology in the field of engineering to design, to develop, to construct and to fabricate things that are able to solve some of the problems in our communities and environments.

Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Technical University of Kenya (tukenya) offers many courses but this page focus on the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK) accredited bachelor degree engineering courses in it's four existing schools. 


School of Aerospace and Vehicle Engineering.

School of Chemical and Biological System Engineering

  • Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering Technology. 


School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

  • Bachelor of Technology in Electronic and Computer Engineering 
  • Bachelor of Technology in Power Systems
  • Bachelor of Technology in Telecommunication 


School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering 

  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering Technology)


School of Civil and Resource Engineering

  • Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering


Entry Requirements Engineering Courses Technical University of Kenya (tukenya)

Bachelor of Engineering 

1. Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE):

  • Average Grade C+ (plus) 
  • C+ (Plus) in Maths A, 
  • C+ (Plus) in Physics, 
  • C+ (Plus) in Chemistry and 
  • C+ (Plus) in Eng./Kis and 
  • In Biology or any group III/VI/V subjects

2. Advance Level (A/Level) : 

  • A-levels – 2 Principle passes in Mathematics and Physics and subsidiary pass in Chemistry and a credit pass in English at O’level. 

3. Diploma in Technology from a recognized Institution. 


Bachelor of Engineering Technology  

Same as for the Bachelor of Engineering but the school of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering accept the following for Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. 

  • KCSE Average Grade C- (Minus) and Diploma in Technology in Mechanical Engineering Technology
Or
  • Teacher Enhancement Programme (TEP) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years relevant work experience together with Mean grade C- (Minus)
