On this page is the Polytechnic Ibadan Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department minimum entry requirements for both the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) applicants.

The page includes the ordinary level O'level and JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects combination.

The Polytehnic Ibadan Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is among the pioneer departments in the Faculty of Engineering and it was created to train students art of designing, building and maintenance of forms of electrical control systems, machinery and equipment.

The training is done with aim to build self confidence in students to face future electrical engineering challenges and for them to be able to stand on their own.

ND Electrical and Electronics Engineering Entry Requirements

An applicant must have minimum of Five O level credits in relevant subjects which must include:

Physics
Mathematics
English Language
Chemistry and one of the
Technical Drawing
Metal Work
Further Mathematics
Geography
Biology
Electrical Installation
Computer Studies
Electrical Works

The five O'level credit passes must be at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following examination qualifications

Senior Secondary Certificate Education (SSCE)

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

General Certificate of Education (GCE) or

National Technical Certificate

JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

Candidates must sit for and make the JAMB coordinated UTME cut off mark.

Polytechnic Ibadan Post UTME Screening

Applicants must also participate in the Polytechnic Ibadan coordinated post UTME screening and make the cut off mark for the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Note: candidates must have chosen the Polytechnic Ibadan as their first choice.

HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering Entry Requirements

Below are the minimum entry requirements to study for HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Polytechnic Ibadan.

Five O'level result as required for ND programme

National Diploma (ND) in the same discipline with minimum of lower credit.

The Polytehnic Ibadan may consider those with pass their ND results but depend but not after those with better results had been considered.

Evidence of one (1) year industrial training programme.
