The following engineering courses are on offer at the school of postgraduate studies University of Ilorin (UNILORIN). 

Listed on this page also, are the minimum entry requirements accepted by the department of each courses to study for the Master of Engineering (MEng) Degree and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree.

Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (MEng) with options in:

  • Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Farm Power and Machinery
  • Soil and Water Conservation
  • Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
  • Aquacultural Engineering
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (MPhi) with options in:
all of the MEng degree courses with the exception of Aquacultural Engineering.

Chemical Engineering (MEng) and (MPhil) with options in:

  • Polymer Engineering
  • Biochemical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering and 
  • Process Engineering
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (MEng) and (MPhil) with options in:
  • Power and Machines Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
Mechanical Engineering (MEng) and (MPhil)

Civil Engineering (MEng) and (MPhil) with options in:
  • Water Resources and Environmental Engineering
  • Transport and Highway
  • Geotechnical Engineering

Minimum Entry Requirements 

Master of Engineering Degree (MEng) Courses:

All candidates applying for any of the master's degree must have 5 O/L Credit passes, including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics.
  • Physics and 
  • Chemistry and one of 
  • Technical Drawing
  • Further Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Agricultural Science or
  • Any relevant trade subjects
All applicants must have completed their first degree programme with minimum of Second Class Honour Degree (Lower Division)

Applicants must have served in and completed the mandatory, one (1) year NYSC programme:

Applicants must sit for and make the condition attached to the qualifying examination. Only those with first class from UNILORIN are exempted.
 
Applicants must apply for the course in which they have their first degree.

If applied for the programmes outside of which they have their first degree, UNILORIN graduate school requires the condition attached to the qualify examination to be met.

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Degree Courses

UNILORIN allow only applicants who score between 55.00 and 59.99 percent to apply for admission into the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) degree programme and only available on full time study mode.
