The Department of Electrical Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Bida knowing the important of this engineering programme teaches it as ND and HND programme and they do so by strictly following the NBTE recommended curriculum with extensive classroom lectures, state of art laboratories for practical and constant industrial training to allow students be accustomed to how the profession is being practise in real world.

Below are stated the minimum entry requirements to study for ND and HND Electrical Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida and included is the O'level and JAMB's UTME subjects combination.

Federal Polytechnic, Bida ND Electrical Engineering Entry Requirements

To be considered for an admission to study for National Diploma (ND) Electrical Engineering at Federal Polytechnic, Bida an applicant must have minimum of Five O level credits in relevant subjects which must include:

• Physics
• Mathematics
• English Language
• Chemistry and one of the 
• Technical Drawing
• Economics
• Agricultural Science
• Further Mathematics
• Geography
• Biology
• Data Processing
• Metal Work
• Basic Electronics/Electricity

The five O'level credit passes must be at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following examination qualifications

Senior Secondary Certificate Education (SSCE)

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

General Certificate of Education (GCE) or 

National Technical Certificate 

JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

Candidates must sit for and make the JAMB coordinated UTME cut off mark of 120

JAMB Subjects Combination

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics and 
• English Language

Federal Polytechnic, Bida Post UTME Screening

Applicants must also participate in the Federal Polytechnic, Bida coordinated post UTME screening and make the cut off mark for the Department of Electrical Engineering as would be dictated.

Note: candidates must have chosen the Federal Polytechnic, Bida as their first choice.

HND Electrical Engineering Entry Requirements

Five O'level result as required for ND programme

National Diploma (ND) in the same discipline with minimum of lower credit.

Evidence of one (1) year industrial training programme

The Federal Polytehnic, Bida may consider those with pass in their ND results for admission but must be with some years of post ND industrial training.
