You can contribute to the improvement of food security in Nigeria by opting to study Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering at Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT).

Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering focus on how to improve the quantity and the quality of farm products for human consumption and as feedstock by the application of engineering and technology.

Students admitted to 100 level of the programme use a minimum of five (5) years and are allowed a maximum of seven (7) years to complete the programme.

Below is listed the minimum entry requirements for O'level/JAMB and Direct Entry candidates to study for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering at Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) plus JAMB subjects combination and O'level subjects combination.


O'level/JAMB Candidates

Minimum of credit pass in five (5) subjects which must include:
  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry plus one of
  • Technical Drawing
  • Further Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Geography
  • Agricultural Science or 
  • A Relevant Trade Subjects 

The five subjects must not be amore than at two sitting from one or two of the following examinations qualification
  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
  • NABTEB

JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

O'level/UTME candidates must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for UTME. He must also participate in Enugu State University of Technology (ESUT) coordinated post UTME screening making the cut off mark for the Department of Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering.

Direct Entry Candidates

The Department of Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering, Enugu State University of Technology ESUT, accept these under listed qualifications from direct entry candidates

  • General Certificate of Education, Advance Level (GCE A'Level): credit pass in Mathematics and Physics.
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credits in relevant engineering courses
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): upper credits in relevant engineering programme
  • Joint Unified Preliminary Examination Board JUPEB: 
ESUT conduct one year pre-degree programme for students who are short of mark to gain admission through UTME. Successful students in the programme are consider for admission to 100 level of Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering. Those given admission through direct entry are admitted to 200 level or 300 level depending on the qualification submitted for application.

Agricultural and Bio-resources Engineering at Enugu State University of Technology is accredited by National University Commission NUC, and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN.
